Physical Therapy For Shoulder Pain

Physical Therapy For Shoulder Pain

Shoulder Pain & Mobility Experts

Get Back To Reaching, Lifting And Living Without Pain

You don’t realize how often you use your shoulders — until they stop cooperating. From brushing your hair to grabbing something off a shelf, shoulder pain makes everyday movement feel like a struggle.

Whether your shoulder has been hurting for months or you’ve just started noticing the discomfort, Sports Rehab PT is here to help. With locations in Weatherford, Willow Park, Decatur, Bridgeport, Ponder, Springtown and Laredo, we treat real people with real pain — not just diagnoses on paper. If your shoulder pain is keeping you from living the way you want to, we’ll help you take that first step back toward freedom of movement.

Does This Pain Sound Familiar?

You might be reading this because:

  • You can’t sleep on your favorite side anymore
  • Lifting groceries or a laundry basket sends a sharp pain down your arm
  • Reaching behind you to grab your seatbelt is nearly impossible
  • You’ve stopped certain workouts or hobbies you used to love

These aren’t just inconveniences — they’re daily reminders that something isn’t right. Our job is to help you feel like yourself again, not just get through the day.

What Recovery Looks Like At Sports Rehab PT

Every healing journey at Sports Rehab PT begins with a conversation. At your first visit, we take the time to understand your experience, evaluate your shoulder mobility and uncover the root of your pain or limitation.

From there, we develop a personalized therapy plan that may include gentle, hands-on techniques to release tension and improve movement. We’ll focus on building strength in your rotator cuff and shoulder blade muscles while also improving posture and flexibility. As your recovery progresses, we’ll guide you through functional training that helps you safely return to your normal activities — whether that’s lifting, working, reaching or playing.

You’ll also gain the tools and knowledge you need to protect your shoulder in the long run without having to give up the things you love. Our approach is never about pushing through pain — it’s about supporting you with patience, expertise and a plan built just for you.

Common Causes Of Shoulder Pain

The shoulder is one of the most mobile joints in your body — and also one of the most complex. That flexibility makes it more prone to injury and strain.

Some of the most common issues we treat include:

  • Rotator Cuff Injuries — Small tears or overuse can cause aching, weakness or limited range of motion
  • Shoulder Impingement — When tendons are pinched during movement, it leads to sharp pain during overhead activities
  • Frozen Shoulder — A condition where your joint becomes stiff and painful, often without a clear cause
  • Arthritis — Wear and tear in the joint can lead to grinding, swelling or long-term stiffness
  • Posture-Related Pain — Poor alignment can overload the shoulder and upper back, causing pain between the blades or in the front of the joint

Because the shoulder and elbow work together throughout the same throwing, lifting and reaching motions, shoulder dysfunction can also lead to compensatory elbow pain over time. Hormonal shifts and repetitive stress can also be key contributors. Every shoulder pain story is different — and we take the time to understand yours.
